Le Récit du Pèlerin : Mémoires de saint Ignace de Loyola

Part of the "Library of Living Catholic Thought" series, this commemorative volume marks the four-hundredth anniversary of St. Ignatius of Loyola's death. It presents his personal memoirs as dictated to his devoted disciple, Father González de Cámara, spanning from his wounding at Pamplona in 1521 through his arrival in Rome in 1537.

Only after persistent urging from his spiritual sons did Ignatius consent to share his account of founding the Society of Jesus. Father de Cámara, blessed with an exceptional memory, carefully recorded these reflections and later expanded them while preserving Ignatius's own voice and manner. The original text—direct, unadorned, and spiritually profound—has been faithfully rendered into English for the first time, maintaining the authentic simplicity of the saint's testimony.
