Saint Peter was a fisherman, married, and the brother of Saint Andrew. His name was Simon, but Jesus said he should be called Kephas (Peter), meaning "rock." He was one of the chief Apostles and present at many of the greatest events in the Gospels.
Repenting of his denial of Christ and transformed by God from a simple unlearned man into a living Christ, he converted thousands to the new faith and worked miracles of healing. He was crucified at Rome, by his own desire suffering head downwards.
