Altar Bread: Low-Gluten 1-3/8" (Box of 25)

These low-gluten altar breads are approved for use at Mass by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. They are made with gluten-free wheat starch and water and contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten, making them suitable for many individuals who require very low gluten.

To prevent cross-contamination, the wafers are baked in a dedicated bakery using equipment that is never used for traditional altar bread. Each box contains 25 individually wrapped hosts, helping maintain purity during shipping, storage, and sacristy use.

Although the gluten content is extremely low, these hosts cannot be labeled “gluten-free” under FDA regulations because they are made from wheat.
