Since the day the Gospel first spread over the globe, Christians have held a unique position: they are both citizens of heaven and worldly heirs, and they both love and are hated by the world. Providence is not a place where development can be monitored, like a sports event, the financial market, or a battleground. But compared to our other measurements, it is more accurate.

This book's message is both reassuringly realistic and upbeat. Today's Christians are exiles. However, Christians have always endured despite being foreigners in a strange place. Although it is a timeless message, it is here properly adjusted for our day.
