Pope Leo XIV: Peace be with you all!

On May 8, 2025, the white smoke from the chimney of St. Peter’s Basilica announced to the 100,000 gathered in the square and to all people around the globe that a new pope had been elected. Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, the first North American and first Augustinian Pope, greeted the people of God with a wide smile and the words: “Peace be with you all.”
