Slabbinck Gothic Chasuble for the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima

This Gothic chasuble was designed for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima.

The design is built around lines formed as parts of concentric circles, representing the community gathered around the figure of Mary in the square of the Sanctuary. Each person is shown as alone yet united in prayer, forming a worldwide community of men and women.

The white fabric refers to the immense light during the apparition of Our Lady. The embroidery in gold, silver, and old gold-coloured threads reflects the ornamentation of the vestment of Our Lady. The chasuble features machine-embroidered linear motifs that follow this symbolic structure throughout the vestment.

It is crafted in Sentia fabric, a blend containing 55% silk, and is finished with a stiff roll-collar. The vestment includes an inside stole and is designed in a Gothic cut.
