The Angelus and Regina Caeli in Latin and English
The Angelus and Regina Caeli in Latin and English
Edited by Geoffrey W.M.P. Lopes da Silva
The Angelus and Regina Caeli in Latin and English (2021) provides all the texts necessary for reciting the Angelus Domini and Regina caeli prayers, traditionally said at 6am, noon, and 6pm. The Angelus Domini is a Marian devotion honouring the Incarnation, based on Sacred Scripture, comprising three versicles with responses, a Hail Mary, a concluding verse, and one of two collects from The Roman Missal. During Easter, it is replaced by the 12th-century Regina cæli, which features a Marian antiphon, a verse with response, and an Easter collect.
This 24-page booklet also includes prayers like the Prayer for the Pope, reflecting the devotion's link to the Holy Father’s Sunday noon recitation from the Apostolic Palace. All texts are presented in both Latin and English, the Church’s official language.
