Words for the Journey: Ten-Minute Prayer Services for Teachers and Administrators

Educators can enrich the school prayer experience with this easy-to-use collection.

Teachers, administrators, and school leaders pray for many reasons: to worship, to praise, for forgiveness, in thankfulness, in times of rejoicing, and in times of sorrow.  Prayer allows educators to centre themselves and relieve stress in the midst of their busy lives where deadlines, report cards, meetings, evaluations and myriad other tasks pervade their thoughts.

Designed to foster spiritual experiences within Catholic school communities, these original, ready-to-use ten-minute prayer services can be used as introductions to staff meetings, at the beginning or closing events at PA days, during informal staff gatherings or as stand-alone prayer services.

Organized by month, the topics cover both liturgical and secular themes.  Each prayer service also contains suggestions for preparation, including rituals and table-dressing ideas to enrich school prayer experiences.
